Mo Myra Art: Live Wedding Painting
In 2018 Mo saw a performance by Kate March at the Melanie Carr Gallery in Essex; it was so beautiful and powerful that it inspired her to change the way she thought about her work as a painter and explored what she could do for others. As she drove away from the gallery that night, she realized she could translate a wedding as it was happening into paint, during which people could enjoy the process and watch the painting come to life.. She learned it is the most authentic way to capture a wedding. Since that night, live wedding painting has become a growing trend but- for Mo - it has been a passion and a way to provide her couples with a unique piece of custom fine art and an experience they’ll never forget. Why Choose Live Wedding Painting? More Importantly, What Is It? Live wedding painting is just that: a custom fine art painting of your wedding day, painted in person. Mo meets with each couple and discusses the scene that they want to have painted. From there, Mo will attend your wedding and paint it as you and you and your guests watch it come to life. What Makes Mo Different From Other Live Painters? Mo has dedicated her life to fine art. She is an international award winning fine artist and every live wedding painting she creates receives the same care and attention to detail as her fine art work. She has studied with classically trained artists and she is a full-time fine artist represented by Abend Gallery in Colorado. Live wedding painting is another one of her passions. She is also a practiced plein-air painter (outdoor painter) who has been juried into competitions with many of the top artists painting today. This type of painting translates beautifully for the live wedding painting experience since she is capturing the essence of the moment, the likeness of the couple and the atmosphere of the day. Her live wedding paintings are never rushed to completion at the end of the night, and are treated like the piece of fine art that they are. Mo believes that every wedding has its own energy and when painting, she is accurately studying the look, feel and emotion of the moment, bringing it to life with every brush stroke. Where Does Mo Paint Weddings? She paints weddings all throughout New England and beyond. Mo is located in Connecticut, so she is frequently painting weddings in New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, New Jersey, upstate New York, Massachusetts and Cape Cod. This year she has started painting more in Boston and has been receiving requests for travel throughout the United States as well. Mo is willing to travel any distance to be there for your wedding day. Every Wedding Someone Asks If They Can Watch You Paint, Can They? One of the incredible things about live wedding painting is that it’s an opportunity for people to experience a painting coming to life. It is something that not many people can experience and it offers a “peek behind the scenes”. At every wedding, Mo meets guests who have a deep appreciation for art- these are usually the guests Mo spends the most time with as she paints and shares some of her techniques with them. Many of these guests share how much they loved learning, or that they have been inspired to get into painting. While these conversations can be brief, they are a part of the experience that adds a distinctive layer to a couple's special day. How Much Does A Live Wedding Painting Cost? Live wedding paintings have a large range of pricing across the board, Mo offers three different packages for couples so they can choose the size painting and budget that works best for them, the only difference between her three packages is the size of the painting. Every live wedding painting is a finished work of fine art that is treated with the same amount of love and care as the next. Live wedding paintings are custom framed according to your aesthetic and arrive ready for you to hang on your wall.
